Before joining the Hamilton School, Allen was a John and Daria Barry Postdoctoral Research Fellow with Princeton University’s James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions. His primary research interests are continental philosophy (especially existential phenomenology), social and political philosophy, and bioethics. Besides these, he especially enjoys teaching ethics and the history of philosophy. In addition to his academic writing and teaching, Allen has leveraged his training in philosophy to contribute to public discourse through venues such as The Wall Street Journal, Law & Liberty, Public Discourse, RealClearPolitics, and City Journal.
